About the Job

The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a part-time (16 hours per week) Research Professional 1.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Lab Manager and PIs, this person will assist with research study data collection and analysis for studies in the Minnesota Tic and Compulsivity (MnTiC) Lab at the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB).

Ongoing research projects in the lab include studies to better understand and improve current treatments for tic disorders and OCD in child, adolescent and young adult populations. Studies involve behavioral therapy, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), neuroimaging, behavioral assessments and video tasks. Time will be split as indicated below.

70%: Data management tasks: Assist with scoring assessment measures, editing behavioral therapy video transcripts and coding video based assessments.
15%: Conduct and assist with participant study study visits. Support data collection for participant visits using multiple methods, including questionnaires, computerized tasks, and neuroimaging.
15%: Participant recruitment and community outreach: Coordinate communication to recruit families to participate in research. Visit community clinics and service sites to recruit families. Attend tabled events. Create and use approved recruitment materials.

Required Qualifications:
-BA/BS or a combination of education and relevant experience to equal four years.
-Experience working with diverse families, youth, and/or individuals with mental health or medical conditions.
-Experience conducting research.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience conducting human subject research.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 10 lbs.

Ability to stand for up to 2 hours at a time

Ability to be in an MRI scan room (i.e. no metal or device in the body that are not MRI safe).

Experience conducting human subject research.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: Salary range is $20.00 - $21.00/hour, depending on education/qualifications/experience.
