Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate.

In this role, the successful candidate The Community Health Worker Research & Resource Center (CHW-RRC) at NYU Grossman School of Medicine's Department of Population Health is seeking a Research Data Associate for a part-time position between October 2025-September 2026.The Research Data Associate will contribute to ongoing research at the CHW-RRC aimed at better understanding the landscape of the CHW workforce and CHW employers in New York State. This will include supporting all aspects of the research, including participant outreach, assistance with development of study tools, and data analysis. The position is based in New York City. Graduate students enrolled in a public health program or similar and candidates belonging to groups historically underrepresented in medicine are encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support research project development, implementation, and dissemination, which may include:
    • Development of project and project support materials, including surveys, evaluation tools, handouts, presentations, meeting agendas, flyers, and other materials.
    • Fostering relationships and conducting outreach to community-based organizations and CHW employers throughout New York State.
    • Maintaining detailed tracking logs of partnership and recruitment outreach activities, data collection, and data analysis.
    • Performing literature searches, synthesizing current literature, and maintaining relevant bibliography for research projects.
    • Supporting materials for Advisory Board meetings and communications.
    • Support development, testing, and distribution of REDCap surveys and data collection forms.
    • Enter and clean quantitative data; assist with data interpretation and analysis
  • Quantitative research tasks:
    • Support development, testing, and distribution of REDCap surveys and data collection forms.
    • Enter and clean quantitative data; assist with data interpretation and analysis.
  • Qualitative Research Tasks:
    • Recruit, screen, consent, and schedule participants for in-depth interviews.
    • Support interview facilitation and assist with qualitative data analysis and synthesis using both inductive and deductive approaches.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Associate's degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills. Able to commit part-time (20 hours/week) employment for the duration of the study period. Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods, including familiarity with research software (e.g., REDCap, Microsoft Office, data analysis programs). Experience with community health workers or in community-based research projects.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in public health or a relevant field. Bilingual English-Spanish. CITI human subjects training certification. Experience with community outreach, community-based work, or research involving community health workers. Strong communication, interpersonal, writing, and organizational skills. Effective time management; able to work both independently and collaboratively. Commitment to using research to improve health for populations who have been marginalized. Interest in advancing health equity through community-based research, health policy, and advocacy. Approaches challenges with curiosity, accountability, and a learning mindset.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $29,277.81-$33,425.60 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
