CNC Machinist III- 1st shift

POSITION SUMMARY

Set up andoperateCNC machines, such as lathes andmills, andSwiss style machines. Ability todemonstratebasic blueprint reading and inspect required blueprint tolerances according to print.Understanding ofCNC operation and machine safety.Createandedit programs under engineering direction.

Shift: 6:00AM-2:30PM, Monday to Friday

II. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma, or equivalent experience.

  • PreviousexperienceinProgramming, set upand operation of CNC Lathes, Mills and other related CNCequipment.

  • 5 - 10+yearsofCNC Programming and Machining

  • Experience working with exotic metals (nitinol, stainless steels, nickel alloys)

  • Proficientin Machining medical device components and GMP requirements

  • Ability to conducthigh-level problem-solvingrelated tothesetup of machines and tooling(indicatingand checkingthealignment of tools and the machine)

  • Must be able to readand interpret engineered drawings andblueprints.

  • Must be able toModifyand edit CNC programsunder the direction ofEngineering.

  • Must be able to create basic CNC programs under the direction of Engineering, creatinglayouts and set-up sheets for use by other machinists.

  • Ability to inspect Parts to print and record Data.

  • Medium to advancedcomputer skills

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Must be able to perform Basic TPM(Total Productive Maintenance)activities.

  • Must be punctual, able tosustainattendance guidelines, and workhours asassigned.

  • Must be able to lift50lbs.

  • It is not expected that this role will require driving as part of this job.

  • Must be able to stand forextendedperiods oftime

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to learn new processes and proceduresquickly

  • Must be capable of making decisionsregardingall aspects ofmachiningprocessesin order tosatisfy the manufacturing and or development schedule and quality requirements of the product.

  • Must be able to investigate, troubleshoot,testand inspect product failures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible formachining prototype parts, tool making and design,andproducing small assemblies.

  • Measuresparts, making required adjustments to ensure conformance to requirements.

  • Maintain machinery andtooling, andtracking and recording machine shop inventoriesas well asperformbasic TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities.

  • Must be able to write and edit CNC programs,including the creation of set-up sheets.

  • Awareof practices and processesutilizingcurrent management tools.

  • Participate in Lean process improvement activities, including idea generation, root-cause analysis,and solution implementation. Responsibilities could include leading Lean manufacturing project teams.

  • Train and mentorMachinists at levels I andII.

  • Performhigh-level problem-solvingrelated tothesetup of machines and tooling (indicatingand checkingthealignment of tools and the machine).

  • Recognize machining or manufacturing problems to produce defect-free parts while meeting production rates.

  • Participate in Lean process improvement activities, including idea generation, root-cause analysis,and solution implementation. Responsibilities could include leading Lean manufacturing project teams.

  • Ableto train and mentorMachinists at levels I andII.

  • The incumbent in this positionis responsible forknowledge of and adherence to environmental policies and company procedures as they relate to ISO 14001.

  • Must not pose a direct threat or risk of harm to the safety of himself/herself or others.

  • Responsible for informing the Company if he/she is taking medications or if there are any other circumstanceswhichwould interfere withthesafe performance ofduties.

QUALITY

  • The incumbent in this positionis responsible forknowledge of and adherence to the policies and procedures as they relate to the requirements of FDA Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485,and ISO 9001 (current revisions).

  • Must be able to keepaccuraterecords for QSR and FDA.

  • Must be able tomaintainproductive working relationships with co-workers.

  • Must treat fellow employees with respect.

  • The incumbent must work and communicate well with engineers, management, coworkers, and support staff.

  • Mustpossessneat and legible handwriting and be organized in such a manner as tomaintaindetailed notes and sketches.
