Job Title: Transport Engineer - IV
Location: Bedminster, NJ (Hybrid)
Job Description:


  • The Transport Engineer Role is responsible for providing end to end technical oversight related to the generation of equipment configurations and IP assignments.
  • Projects focus on the expansion of the 4G, 5G, and C-Band networks.
  • Creating various types for Samsung and Nokia equipment configuration files, generated through various vendor tools such as Nokia Service Portal.
  • Responsible for network transport design in the Tristate Submarket, primarily focusing on network configurations and IP assignments associated with Telecommunication 5G and C-Band network growth.
  • Providing the Network Assurance teams with all requirements needed to stay on track with 5G and C-Band cell integrations and activations.
  • Creating LS3/LS6 router configuration, LS3/LS6 Conquest IP responsibilities, C-Band bandwidth upgrade generated configuration and the Granite work required for bandwidth upgrades.
  • Includes all Fuze SPM updates associated with these tasks to ensure full transport progress visibility across all teams.
  • Tasked with creating router configuration files for multiple transport solutions such as Dark Fiber, LIT-Eline, and 3rd Party fiber circuits.
  • Providing technical support and project management for the design, acquisition, and implementation for all equipment supporting Network infrastructure projects including, but not limited to DWDM and SONET Optical transport systems deployed throughout the Telecommunication Network.
  • Contributing to an engineering database for documentation of all transport equipment and design paths.
  • Regularly works with Network planning on strategic initiatives, to develop future technology solutions, and features and growth jobs on existing products that support our infrastructure.
  • Works with other group's forecasts to ensure equipment growth projects meet expectant demands in support of the company's objectives.




Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with Granite/CND database.
  • Familiarity with Samsung and Nokia Transport and RAN equipment.




Preferred Qualifications:


  • Technical degree; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in the cellular/telecommunications industry in a Transport engineering role.
  • In-depth knowledge and advanced proficiency in CWDM/DWDM Optical Transport systems including: Ciena, Alcatel-Client.
  • Familiarity with Dark Fiber vendors, their organizational processes and standards, as well as their network portfolio maps is preferred.
  • Proficient in office computer applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
  • Executive level troubleshooting, problem solving, project management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Decision making skills (by making appropriate use of all available information and data; anticipating the future and preparing accordingly; recognizing the impact of decisions upon the rest of the organization; receiving broad guidance; being accountable for broad project results; and being responsible for the leadership of broad programs in support of organizational or area strategies).
  • Superior organizational and planning skills (setting and communicating priorities; anticipating workload impact on resources of both self and team; delegating where appropriate; consistently following up on outstanding items; and providing focus in meetings and discussions).
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly and apply working knowledge of wireless engineering on new projects.
  • Self-motivated, show initiative, and be able to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills needed.
  • Highly productive and pay close attention to detail.
