Job Description

Shift: 2nd
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM with rotating weekend on-call responsibilities (every other weekend).
Pay Rate: $30-36 (commensurate with experience).
Shift differential: $1.00



We are seeking an experiencedMaintenance Technicianwith advanced PLC and controls expertise to support our state-of-the-art Bubble and Foam Extrusion Plant. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive troubleshooting abilities across electrical systems, mechanical processes, and pneumatic/hydraulic components. This role requires a safety-focused professional who can maintain critical manufacturing equipment with minimal supervision in a fast-paced production environment.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Perform advanced electrical and mechanical maintenance on industrial extrusion equipment while adhering to safety protocols, quality standards, and production requirements
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex PLC systems, electrical circuits, and control panels in a manufacturing setting
  • Calibrate instrumentation and conduct preventative maintenance inspections on production machinery
  • Install new equipment and implement modifications to existing manufacturing systems
  • Rebuild critical equipment components, including hydraulic systems, pneumatic devices, and mechanical assemblies
  • Maintain facility infrastructure and grounds to ensure optimal operational conditions
  • Take ownership of assigned equipment condition and performance metrics
  • Document maintenance activities and prepare detailed technical reports with improvement recommendations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and plant-wide goals
  • Respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies during assigned on-call weekends

Qualifications

Requirements:



  • 2-5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Allen-Bradley PLC systems, HMI interfaces, and industrial control systems.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Practical experience in maintaining and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Working knowledge of bulk material handling equipment (loaders, hoppers, vacuum systems).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two-year technical degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use precision measurement tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.



Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
  • Capable of frequently lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be comfortable working in non-climate-controlled industrial settings.
  • Able to safely climb ladders and stairs to access equipment at various heights.
  • Manual dexterity to operate hand and power tools with precision.



Preferred Skills & Experience:



  • Experience in plastic extrusion, foam manufacturing, or similar industrial processes.
  • Millwork, machine shop, and welding capabilities (MIG/TIG).
  • Familiarity with SAP maintenance modules or similar ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • NFPA 70E electrical safety certification.
  • Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and servo motors.
  • Background in industrial automation and robotics.
