At approximately 120,042 acres of parkland and 872-miles of trails, Maricopa County is home to one of the largest regional park systems in the nation. Currently, there are twelve parks in Maricopa County's regional park system. Each is unique and offers its visitors a wide variety of recreational opportunities.
The Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department oversees the Maricopa Trail, a 315-mile trail system that encircles the valley and links all regional parks together. Cash handling experience using a computerized point-of-sale system Three or more years of clerical duties, including customer service and public contact experience Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills
Job Contributions
Operates on the point of sale/reservation system and provides initial and ongoing training to volunteers and staff as needed Prepares and processes revenue, including counting cash and check intake for all revenue locations, and prepares reports and bank deposits daily for all park staff. Greets park visitors and interprets park features for customers, including, but not limited to, park use areas, rules and regulations, fees and special uses of park lands Responds to e-mails, phone calls, and in-person inquiries and concerns from the public, agencies, park personnel or others regarding designated parks in a professional manner; Oversees ordering and inventory functions of the Nature Center, contact station, and souvenir fund Prepares weekly/monthly park souvenir fund order; ensures order meets all department requirements Provides general administrative support to park staff Other Job Duties as assigned (e.g. light janitorial, litter collection, landscaping, exhibit display care, etc).
Working Conditions
Exerting up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly OR requires walking or standing to a significant degree. Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
