Security Officer - Education Patrol

As a Security Officer - Education Patrol in La Crescenta, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas at an educational location, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a reassuring presence for students, staff, and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible throughout the campus, and deliver exceptional customer service while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and a people-first culture.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, staff, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies within the educational environment.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the campus, including interior and exterior areas, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify any potential security-related concerns.
• Observe and report any suspicious persons, activities, or hazards to the appropriate personnel and/or authorities as required.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits and verifying identification as needed.
• Support emergency response activities by following directions from Allied Universal and site leadership.
• Document incidents and daily activities in written and/or electronic reports as required by site procedures.
• Maintain a professional presence while interacting with students, staff, and visitors to help to foster a secure environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
