Are you a relationship-driven strategist who thrives at the intersection of creativity, collaboration, and client partnership? A premier Richmond-based creative agency is seeking an experienced Senior Account Manager to join their growing team. This role is about owning marketing strategy and execution for existing clients, not selling services or closing new business. So sales folks need not apply to this particular posting! :):) This award-winning creative marketing agency is known for producing people-first, purpose-driven work that helps senior living communities build trust, stand out, and drive real business results. The agency specializes in bespoke, creatively led marketing solutions-not cookie-cutter campaigns-and is deeply focused on long-term partnerships and meaningful outcomes. They are seeking an experienced Senior Account Manager to independently lead a portfolio of accounts and serve as the strategic, day-to-day partner to both clients and internal teams. This is a true senior-level role designed for someone who can step in, quickly understand complex businesses, confidently guide conversations, and run accounts with autonomy and maturity. What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of client accounts, owning the relationship end-to-end.
- Build deep, strategic partnerships with clients to understand their goals, challenges, and opportunities.
- Collaborate seamlessly with creative, digital, media, and marketing teams to deliver work that exceeds expectations.
- Participate in brainstorming and strategic planning sessions, contributing to the development of innovative marketing solutions.
- Monitor campaign performance and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Lead project timelines, manage budgets, and ensure on-time, on-strategy execution.
- Conduct regular client meetings to provide updates, gather insights, and reinforce alignment.
- Partner with internal marketing and digital experts to establish annual KPIs and performance benchmarks
- Monitor and discuss key metrics such as lead volume, conversion health, and occupancy-related outcomes
- Participate in quarterly reporting and ongoing optimization conversations
- Help clients pivot strategy as market conditions, budgets, or priorities shift
- Translate data into insights and actionable recommendations for clients
- Collaborate closely with creative, digital, marketing, and media teams
- Participate in strategic planning and brainstorming sessions
- Ensure alignment across teams while fostering collaboration and consensus
- Thrive in an environment where creative teams are deeply involved in account conversations
- Partner closely with a Project Success Manager (a hybrid project management role) and work together to translate client needs into actionable plans and keep work moving efficiently.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of account management experience within a marketing, advertising, or creative agency
- Direct experience supporting senior living or senior care clients from an agency perspective is strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously and independently
- Strong client-facing communication and negotiation skills
- Confident making strategic recommendations and pushing back when needed
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change in a growing agency environment
- Candidates considered for remote work must demonstrate hands-on senior living experience
- Experience must align with creative-led, customized marketing-not purely formulaic lead-generation models
- Comfortable working in a Mac-based environment
- Proficient with Google Workspace and virtual meeting tools
- Experience with project management platforms such as Function Point, Basecamp, Asana, Monday.com, or similar
