JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT

Strategic Initiatives Division

Number of Vacancies: 2 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval)

Salary range: $121,668.00 to $137,532.00 annually

Under direction, this class is managerial in nature and accountable for senior manager level functions, duties and responsibilities, and part of the Chicago Police Department's executive level staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

* Interfaces with Command Staff, senior leadership, program managers, and external stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and define opportunities for improved efficiency, cost savings, and process improvements and develop work plans and data collection

* Meets with managers to identify the scope of problems and define the objectives of various studies and data-driven projects.

* Responsible for evaluating complex business and operational systems and drafting detailed flow charts and models to assess current methods and data processes.

* processes for achieving any observed objectives.

* Helps establish an operating model for data governance, including roles and responsibilities, such as data governance body, data stewardship, data custodians, and data-related policies and procedures.

* Manages and coordinates the requests between CPD departments with internal and external delivery and manages executive and senior executive-level client stakeholder relationships.

* Partners with stakeholders to define critical business questions and define insights and analysis approaches to investigate and provide answers and guidance to support decisions related to data.

* Develops and coordinates accurate and reliable methods to assess department programs, activities, and initiatives and measures the extent to which projected goals and date related objectives are attained.

Additional duties may be required for this position.

DIVISION: Strategic Initiatives

ADDRESS: 3510 S Michigan Ave

DAYS: Monday through Friday

HOURS: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Nine (9) years of experience related to the responsibilities of the position, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, OR

* Graduation from an accredited college with an associate's degree in a field related to the duties performed, including seven (7) years of work experience related to the position, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, OR

* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a field related to the duties performed, including five (5) years of work experience related to the position, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position, OR

* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree or higher in a field related to the duties performed, including four (4) years of work experience related to the position, of which two (2) years are in a supervisory role related to the responsibilities of the position.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS

This position requires applicants to complete an interview, which will include a written exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected.

*Successful candidates must pass a drug screen and a background investigation. People that are offered employment must pass all pre-employment exams prior to appointment.
