Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a
Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in
Annapolis Junction, Maryland. Qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens with a
TS/SCI clearance and Full Scope Polygraph.
Responsibilities:
* Lead innovative development and enhancement of radio frequency (RF) signal processing capabilities.
* Facilitate integration of new and legacy software across a variety of hardware form factors.
* Analyze user requirements, concepts of operations, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirement specifications.
* Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities.
* Guide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies.
* Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
* Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.
* Develop system architecture and design documentation.
* Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.
* Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
* Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) - Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture (SOA), etc.
* Contribute to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
* Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
* Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination.
* Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based upon evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations.
* Allocate real-time process budgets and error budgets to systems and components.
* Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
* Define the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems, and work products are verified against their requirements.
* Develop system design solutions that satisfy system requirements and fulfill functional analysis.
Required Qualifications:
*Exceptional integrity, professionalism, and commitment to MTSI's core values.
*14+ years of experience as a System Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
*Excellent oral and written communication skills.
*Strong customer service skills; being able to work with personnel across multiple disciplines of the organization.
*Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
*Ability to work well independently or within a team.
Qualifications Desired:
*Experience using tools like Python and SQL.
*Experience with cloud computing platforms like; Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS GovCloud.
*Experience with ETL frameworks.
Education Requirements:
*Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
*5+ years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Certifications Requirements:
*Any Data Engineer certification (desired).
Clearance Requirements:
*TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
The pay range for this position in MD is $180,000 to $275,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
