Acara Solution is seeking a Space Force - Tester - Tracking for our client, located in Scottsdale, AZ.

  • As a Software Tester for the SDA GMI program, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our ground operational systems.
  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify issues and ensure our software meets the highest standards.
  • Design, develop, and execute test plans, procedures, and scenarios for space tracking systems (satellites, debris, launch vehicles).
  • Verify that tracking algorithms, sensors, and software accurately detect, identify, and maintain custody of space objects.
  • Assess tracking data quality, latency, precision, and system performance under nominal and stress conditions.
  • Test interoperability between sensors (radar, optical, RF), command-and-control systems, and data fusion platforms.
  • Identify defects, inconsistencies, or anomalies; analyze root causes; and coordinate fixes with engineers and operators.
  • Support operational test events to ensure systems meet mission requirements before deployment.
  • Produce test reports, metrics, and recommendations to inform leadership and acquisition decisions.
  • Ensure systems comply with Space Force requirements, safety standards, and cybersecurity policies.
  • Provide feedback to improve tracking capabilities, resilience, and scalability as threats and mission needs evolve.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends in software testing and quality assurance.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science or Technology or Mathematics with 2 years of experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in test automation tools (Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree with 6 months of experience.
  • Proficiency in manual and automated testing methodologies.
  • Good understanding of test case design, test execution, and defect management.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI).
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests.
  • Knowledge of security testing methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
  • Ability to work effectively with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in documenting test cases, test plans, and test results.
  • Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Postman, SoapUI.
  • Jenkins, GitLab CI.
  • Git, Jira, Confluence.
  • OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite.
  • Splunk.
  • Proven ability to design and execute comprehensive test plans.
  • Expertise in identifying and troubleshooting software issues.
  • Collaborative team player with a keen eye for detail.
  • Solid knowledge in the use and understanding of test engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Solid knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming, system processes, and scripting languages.
  • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments.
  • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity.
