JOB DESCRIPTION The Quality Technician is responsible to perform quality audits of the process and material and assist in the analysis and problem solving of quality issues, The Technician acts as a member of production supervision to ensure proper processing of seats, support production schedules and elevation of production concerns as required as well as any deviation to process or policy. Specific Duties: Product and Process Audits
Develop a thorough understanding of the Quality Assurance Systems and procedures (Quality Procedures Manual, product line requirement, customer quality manuals, supplier quality system standards, etc.). Perform and document such inspection results as designated by the overall quality plan. Responsible for testing auditing production process (e.g. work instructions, quality alerts, error-proofing, containment verification and control plans) using tools such as red rabbits and poka yoke verification to insure employees and equipment are in compliance with production intent and to ensure employees comply with all company rules/policies/practices relative to quality and delivery. Responsible for conducting product audits (H-point, dock audit, etc.) including appearance, objective measurement, and attribute tests as required with related test equipment set-up and data acquisition. Provide leadership in adherence to and promotion of 5S activities including conducting and reporting 5S audits and leading by example by adhering to facility, safety, and 5S policies particularly with regard to areas related to quality and quality processes. Perform incoming inspection functions on purchased production intent materials. Responsible for evaluating, recording and removing non-conforming material from the line into a controlled area.
Production Support
Perform production team member duties and attend necessary problem resolution meetings (e.g. white board meeting) as required to support production schedules. Perform Quality Assurance inspection, instrument/ gage calibrations and perform calibration and repair of small tools as needed in support of the overall gage control program. Coordinate containment and establishment of "clean points" as required. Quality Data Gathering, Reporting and Issue Resolution Gather data for periodic reports. Record, assist in the data maintenance and, report-out of the quality visual management boards (bulletin boards, charts, etc.) Disposition, test and provide investigation report-out for non-conforming material being returned from the customer plant and ensure that quality lab is clean and that all tools and equipment are accounted for and in good working order. Develop a practical understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques and serve as facilitator in assuring proper use of these techniques throughout manufacturing. Assist BWI staff in technical problem solving activities; analyzing and providing timely resolution of material and/or internal process problems including coordination of cross-functional, multi-tiered investigation teams and interface with the supplier, when appropriate, to ensure immediate containment and continued long-term quality improvement.
