Field Tech Trainee (gasoline & diesel engines)
Location:Redstone Arsenal, AL (35898) Job ID: #71918 Pay Range: $30-35 Pay based on experience No prior Field Tech experience is required; OJT - on the job training will be provided for qualified candidatesw/ proven troubleshooting ability on vehicle power train systems. 1st Shift - Mon-Thurs 500am - 330pm some OT on FRIs or SATs Open to US Citizens & US Permanent Residents Primary Responsibilities * Assemble, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment, components, and systems in accordance with schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal work instructions. * Operate test equipment, conduct functional and performance tests, and document results in the prescribed format. * Perform precise calibration and alignment checks; execute modifications, part replacements, and preparation of required compounds and solutions. * Provide hands on mechanical support for HIMARS, M270, and other military vehicles, including preventative maintenance, fault isolation, and repair of diesel and gasoline power train systems. Required Qualifications * Familiarity with gasoline and diesel engines; * * *proven troubleshooting ability on vehicle power train systems. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals. * * * No prior Field Tech experience is required; OJT - on the job training will be provided for qualified candidates w/ gasoline & diesel-proven troubleshooting ability on vehicle power train systems. Desired Experience * Prior experience as a diesel mechanic on heavy duty equipment (e.g., bulldozers, large industrial diesel engines). * Demonstrated work on military platforms such as M270 - Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) / Mercedes-Benz M270 engine, HIMARS - High Mobility Artillery Rocket System/ Caterpillar C7 or 3116 ATAAC 6.6-liter Diesel , HUMVEE, or comparable tactical vehicles. No prior experience is required; on the job training will be provided for qualified candidates Other Requirements:
