Salary: $35-$40 Per Hour POSITION SUMMARY: The Dockmaster is responsible for manage/supervise loading dock operations at Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Reston, VA to ensure cargo is properly received, shipped, and documented. The successful Dockmaster will provide a quality of service consistent with logistics industry operations best practices and environmental hazard management achieving the requirements set forth by the customer in a safe and comprehensive manner. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Supervise the daily traffic on the Reston classified and unclassified loading docks. Responsibilities include ensuring that deliveries are approved prior to entry and that delivered items have been approved by FAC or CIO for IT equipment as needed. Loading dock operations include but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Effectively communicating with arriving DLOC delivery drivers for proper traffic flow as well as DIA Police, Security, and other departments for delivery scheduling of materials, approved deliveries. Responsibilities also include coordinating and staging of items on the loading dock.
- Coordinate with DIA Police for any equipment that is attempted entry through any means other than the authorized entry point be re-directed to the only authorized entry point.
- Controls access of all non-Government owned equipment and uncleared personnel on the loading dock at all times.
- Maintain a receipt and shipping log of all delivery, pickup, and disposal traffic through all loading docks on the Reston Campus.
- Receive, store, and coordinate disposal of surplus property through Reston FAC and LOG turn-in process. Schedule and supervise surplus moves to the agency surplus warehouse, as needed/warranted.
- Maintain the loading docks and storage area, keeping them clean and orderly and ensuring items are efficiently received, stored, and disposed of within 10 business days.
- Responsible for disposal of recyclable items, including used print cartridges, cardboard, etc.
- Supervises surplus moves into the loading dock ensuring only appropriate items are moved; handle any problems that arise.
- Supervise the unloading and placement of surplus items into the loading dock by the movers.
- Check incoming and outgoing equipment to ensure that all paperwork is complete and accurate.
- Maintain surveillance of the loading dock parking area ensuring all traffic flows moves out in an orderly fashion. Controls assigned parking spaces ensuring only authorized vehicles park in the loading dock service yard.
- Develop and/or maintain an established Quality Control Plan.
- Adhere all company Government Security, Information Technology, and all other applicable standards, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure all required training remain current.
- Understand and abide by the contract's Performance Work Statement and all other contract documents.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school degree or GED.
- Experience managing logistical operations in an active loading dock.
- Certificates, licenses and registrations required: Antiterrorism Level 1 Awareness, Operational Security, Cyber Awareness, Counterintelligence Awareness and Reporting, and other periodic training required to maintain clearance or assigned by the company.
- Computer skills required: Contract Management Systems; Inventory Software; Microsoft Office.
- TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required; current DIA polygraph highly desired.
- EM-385-1-1 Level 2 or higher Safety and Health Officer
- Other skills required: safe operation of and licensed or certified on any equipment operated in accordance with responsibilities
