Position Title: Coordinator, Human Resources Position Number: JR103114 Job Description Summary Organizational Summary Statement: The Business Support Services unit of the Division of IT is looking to hire a Human Resources Coordinator. This position will report directly to the Human Resources Manager. - Entry of positions and postings in the hiring system The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, an excellent communicator and have high levels of organization, as well the skill to multitask in a fast past large division. Strong attention to detail skills and analytically driven. Also the ability to prioritize and self-motivate in an extremely rapid productive environment. Must have a desire to be a team player and participate in continuous improvement and process innovation activities. Additionally, the ideal candidate proactively troubleshoots for solutions and anticipates possible foreseeable obstacles. Should possess a high level of professionalism and leadership capabilities. This is a primarily in-person position with limited telework. This position is considered essential and may be required to work at the normal work location or an alternative location during a major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational emergency to help maintain the continuity of University services. Physical Demands: Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: One (1) year of professional human resources experience. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures, and federal, state, and other applicable human resources related laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances. Knowledge of best practices in organization, administration, and customer service. Knowledge of proper protocol in handling confidential information. Skill in analytical and strategic thinking. Skill in oral and written communication. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to analyze situations and determine the best recourse for response. Ability to manage multiple priorities while demonstrating a commitment to customer service. Additional Job Details Please note that all positions within the Division of Information Technology (DIT) have an in person component with expected time in our College Park, MD location per week.
