Major/Essential Functions


  • Develop, direct, and implement the visual concepts for Texas Tech Football while constantly evaluating and enhancing our product. Lead the creation of engaging artwork for digital, print, in-venue, and facility use.
  • Responsible for producing both internal and external graphic design content focused specifically on the Texas Tech Football program. This includes a variety of graphics and visual materials for recruiting efforts and other visual elements needed by the football staff.
  • Create and distribute a strategic planning calendar for graphics, aligned with key dates significant to Texas Tech Football.
  • Orchestrate the design and execution of traditional and digital advertising assets, including social media, website, broadcast, scoreboard graphics, email templates, social media templates, team posters, schedule cards, and brochures. Organize and catalog graphic elements in shared storage systems to ensure efficient access and department-wide use.
  • Design, build, and deliver creative elements that support the digital needs of the marketing and communications teams.
  • Assist with strategic visual branding by developing creative concepts and deliverables that advance Texas Tech Football's mission while aligning with the overall Athletics Department brand.
  • Assist with photography as needed during recruiting visits.
  • Source and design materials for both internal and external audiences, ensuring all designs reflect the unique elements of the Athletics brand and remain cohesive with existing collateral and marketing efforts. Develop innovative visual solutions that adhere to Athletics' brand guidelines.
  • Supervise and direct student graphic designers by managing workloads, providing constructive feedback, and supporting professional development. Interface with printers and other outside vendors throughout the design process.
  • Review both text and graphics with a detailed eye. Approve the use of the Texas Tech logos on assets developed by the department.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field plus three years related experience; OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal seven years.

Preferred Qualifications


  • 3-5 years of previous intercollegiate and/or professional sports graphic design experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; motion design experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
