Compensation: We offer our employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The salary range for this position is $53,705.00 to $56,796.30 and may be commensurate with experience.

The Patient Services Manager position provides oversight and coordination for all front desk operations. Provides administrative services and office management for the SOME Medical and Dental Clinics and BHS services. Provides direct leadership, supervision, and operational management of the Patient Services Coordinator and Crisis Coordination teams within SOME's Medical, Dental, and Behavioral Health Services.

This position is located at our main campus on O Street in NW Washington, DC.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (40 hours per week)

Required: HS/GED; 3-5 yrs. Administrative experience in a Primary Care or Acute Care office/ private practice

Required License/Certification: CPR/First-Aid; Driver's License; Medical Records Certificate/ MA Certificate

Expected Contributions: Front Desk Operations Management



  • Maintain a safe and hospitable environment in the front desk area
  • Greet clients and visitors; check in clients and provide direction or answer questions when needed
  • Coordinate coverage of the front desk
  • Maintain clinic schedule and monitor no-show appointments and other quantitative reports
  • Schedule clinic appointments for clients when needed
  • Review and monitor all patient information to ensure it is current in ECW for Medical, Dental and BHS departments
  • Assist with the coordination of patient navigation and flow throughout clinics
  • Enroll and verify client insurance
  • Assist with the coordination of patient navigation and flow throughout
  • Orient and train front desk staff


Expected Contributions: Administrative



  • Order supplies for the front desk, and oversee medical, dental, and BHS supply ordering when needed. (This position requires a credit card.)
  • Order and distribute transportation tokens
  • Scan documents into ECW
  • Verify invoices and approve bill payments
  • Provide oversight of the medical records request (MRR) process and conduct regulatory MRR audits.
  • Input work orders and maintain a log for facilities maintenance of the front desk area, and the clinic



Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:



  • Knowledge of electronic health records management and eClinicalWorks
  • Knowledge of SOME mission and services
  • Basic knowledge of medical and general dentistry practice
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Basic knowledge of insurance payer systems, eligibility requirements, and medical coding/billing

Reports to: Clinic Office Manager

Position Designation: This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. You may be subject to drug testing prior to or during your employment with SOME. In this position, you may be disqualified from employment based on the presence of marijuana in test results, even if you possess a medical card authorizing the use of medical marijuana.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds. Requires looking at a computer screen for several hours a day. May be required to sit for long periods. Must be able to travel to events and meetings off-site.
