Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your electrical engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and forward-thinking teammates.
You'll play a pivotal role in enhancing the safety, reliability, and passenger experience of the JFK AirTrain system, addressing obsolescence challenges and driving innovative solutions. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, procurement, operations, and maintenance), guide blue-collar teams through project lifecycles, and much more.
You'll specifically take care of developing and implementing projects tailored to the JFK AirTrain system's needs, but also researching and evaluating innovative solutions for the system.
We'll look to you for:
Supporting the CARP department to develop and implement projects tailored to the JFK AirTrain system's needs
Researching and evaluating potential projects to identify innovative solutions for the AirTrain system
Effectively communicating technical details of projects to stakeholders to facilitate approvals and secure funding
Designing detailed drawings, technical specifications, and comprehensive scopes of work to align with project objectives
Collaborating with Operations and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot technical issues and emergencies
Coordinating with engineering, procurement, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth project delivery
Guiding blue-collar teams through clear procedures, training, and ongoing support during project lifecycles
Leading the installation and commissioning processes for CARP initiatives, ensuring efficient system integration
Maintaining accurate documentation for all project activities to ensure a comprehensive audit trail

Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Experience or understanding of project engineering or field service engineering, with a focus on electrical systems
Knowledge of electrical schematics, technical drawings, and service manuals
Familiarity with design drawings, scope of work creation, and project management processes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Leadership skills with experience in guiding blue-collar teams or contractors
Problem-solving and troubleshooting expertise, especially in emergency or time-sensitive scenarios
Proficiency in computer systems and software relevant to engineering and project management
A proactive approach to learning and staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies
