About the role:

CLA is hiring Seasonal Tax Preparers for our New Jersey location. This role will start with CLA in February 2026 and end in mid-April 2026.

As a Seasonal Tax Preparer, you will:

• Prepare individual tax returns (1040's) and possibly corporate, partnership, and other types of returns (depending on experience)
• Provide basic accounting services as needed
• Perform all work in compliance with the firm's policies and procedures
• Maintain technical tax skills through on the job training and participation in internal tax training sessions Communicate directly with client when appropriate
• Other duties may be assigned

What you will need:

• Either a 2 or 4-year accounting degree is preferred (relevant work experience, may be considered in-lieu of degree)
• 1-2 years of tax return preparation experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of basic accounting concepts involved in tax return preparation
• CPA desired but not required
• Prior experience with a public accounting and/or professional services firm preferred
• Strong analytical skills to enable effective decision-making
• Solid written and oral communication skills
• Excellent client service orientation with an ability to handle pressure in a positive, professional manner

The hourly compensation range for this position in New York is: $30.40 -$44.00.
