Primary Purpose Serves as a supervisor/leader and ensures the daily activities and goals of the Cardiographic Technician staff are met and performs non-invasive Cardiographic procedures in order to provide physicians diagnostic tools which enhance diagnosis. Expected schedule for this position is : Monday through Friday, Noon to 8 pm MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS Education

Skills or Special Abilities * Must be able to identify the proper placement of electrodes for a 12-Lead EKG. * Must be able to perform 12-Lead EKG. * Must be able to utilize the (EKG Management System) for edit of EKGs prior to physician interpretation. * Must be able to perform Stress Testing, including hook-up, monitoring and blood pressures during exercise. * Must be able to perform Holter Monitoring, including hook-up. * Must be able to demonstrate, receive, and manage monthly pacemaker checks. * Must be able to perform Event Monitoring, including hook-up and reception. * Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and hospital staff. * Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of a PC operations and the ability to use work processing and spreadsheet software in a Windows environment. * Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of equipment in order to monitor its general working condition. * Utilizes creativity and innovation in attaining desired outcomes. * Uses a holistic approach and persists when solving problems. * Works in a highly organized manner, capturing and attending to details as well as the bigger picture. * Acts with a sense of urgency. * Synthesizes information and shares with a larger group. * Works effectively in an ambiguous environment. Responsibilities 1. Performs all duties of a staff/lead Cardiographic Technician as listed and any additionally delegated duties to ensure quality patient care is met. 2. Assists the Manager and Medical Director in selecting, motivating, supervising and evaluating Cardiographic staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities, while providing optimal service to internal and external customers. 3. Responsible for technical training and compliance of the technical staff. 4. Develops, implements, monitors and revises annual goals and objectives of the Cardiographics area that supports the missions and objectives of PHHS. 5. Develops, monitors and provides orientation for Cardiology Fellows and students of EKG training programs to confirm the technical competence, efficiency and productivity of assigned staff. 6. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of Cardiographic equipment including troubleshooting and vendor contact as needed to facilitate proper levels of operable equipment and efficient workflow within the department. 7. Cultivates and maintains a positive working relationship with management, physicians, nurses, hospital staff, and vendors in order to provide optimal patient care, interdepartmental cooperation, and improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency in support of overall PHHS goals. 8. Supervises and monitors computer systems and the data entry of diagnostic codes and patient revenue charges to ensure the integrity of reports and maintained information. 9. Generates reports related to Sonography statistics and confirms dissemination to appropriate parties. 10. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in noninvasive cardiology by attending seminars and workshops, reading professional journals and integrates this knowledge into the job as appropriate. Ensures that assigned staff receives opportunities to further their knowledge. 11. Responsible for the daily technical operation of the laboratory (i.e. staff scheduling, patient scheduling, laboratory record keeping etc.) Monitors outpatient appointments ensuring that patient flow and patient throughput is maintained at optimal levels. 12. Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes and workflow for the Cardiographic department and implements appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity and efficiency. 13. Maintains and implements knowledge of all the rules, regulations, policies, procedures, laws, and guidelines, including JCAHO, that impact the Cardiographic areas and ensures that the area is in compliance. 14. Develops operating and capital budgets and operates within the confines of those budgets. 15. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the Cardiographic areas. Develops effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state/federal laws, and the program requirements of accreditation agencies and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding. Job Accountabilities 1. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland. 2. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices. 3. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans.
