CUMC Immunogenetics and Cellular Immunology are seeking a qualified Staff Associate II to join our team. Position Description: The work will involve the hands-on processing of biological samples for clinical flow cytometry tests for lymphoid, non-lymphoid, and malignant immunophenotyping. Training in laboratory protocols and result reporting will be provided. An important part of the job will relate to the development of multi-color (10+) Flow Cytometry assays. The Staff Associate III will conduct basic and translational research studies in the field of Transplantation and Tumor Immunology, perform experiments for the characterization of immune regulatory mechanisms, and monitor the immune status of transplant recipients and cancer patients. In addition, the responsibilities will include the implementation of new reagents, tests, and instrumentation, quality control/assurance, maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments, enforcing regulatory compliance, computer-related duties, and training of residents and new personnel. Schedule: The schedule will start at 9-5, Monday through Friday, during training, and later be structured to cover the afternoon shift (12-8 PM), with some flexibility. Occasionally, unconventional working hours may be required (weekends, holidays, overtime) based on need.
