Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for performing a variety of accounting assignments under general direction from supervisor. Perform assignments with instructions as to general results expected. Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation or modification of standard accounting techniques, procedures and practices. Devise new approaches to most problems, seeking technical guidance on unusually complex problems. Coordinate accounting activities for assigned projects and provide limited supervision to lower level accounting personnel.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account analyses as part of the closing process
  • Assist Operations with Manufacturing Targets/Variances (Daily Flex)
  • Support weekly financial package with various statistical data
  • Support periodic budgeting process
  • Support SOX reporting and testing process
  • Support/Verify Fixed Asset Purchases
  • Coordinate audit requests with internal and external audit groups
  • Responsible for performing a variety of accounting assignments under general direction from supervisor

Required Skills

  • Proven analytical, problem solving, and process improvement ability
  • Experience with ERP systems for general accounting and consolidation purposes preferred
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to successfully manage many issues/projects simultaneously
  • Previous public accounting experience with manufacturing clients is a plus
  • Must have the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet expectations for required competencies in position, which includes: 1) safety, health, and environmental awareness, 2) business ethics and compliance, 3) technical/professional competence and quality & time management, 4) interpersonal relations and communication skills, 5) initiative, flexibility, innovation, and adaptability, 6) continuous improvement and problem solving, and 7) planning and organizing.

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
