Our client is currently seeking an Engineer to support large, multidiscipline engineering projects that directly impact substation, system, and transmission operations.

This role is wellsuited for an experienced engineer who enjoys a mix of technical review, project management/ coordination, and field engagement. The position involves working closely with Project Engineers and crossfunctional teams to ensure engineering work is delivered safely, on schedule, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards. Candidates with utility, construction, or operations experience-particularly in substations or power generation-are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities/Job Description:

Seeking an Engineer to support the Central Engineering Substation Customer Energy Solutions team. This role partners with Project Engineers to plan, coordinate, and support large, multi discipline engineering projects for Substation, System, and Transmission Operations. The Project Engineer will work to ensure that projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and safety, environmental, and quality expectations.

Responsibilities include reviewing engineering estimates, schedules, drawings, and specifications; coordinating engineering package and schedule reviews; tracking deliverables; and providing technical support during field construction activities. Work closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and customers, participates in field visits and pre award meetings, supports troubleshooting efforts, maintains project data in engineering systems, prepares progress and financial updates, and supports system emergencies and equipment outages as required.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable engineering and/or design experience in utility operations, construction, substations, steam, and/or power generation operations

    OR Master's degree in Engineering and 3 years of related experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively at all organizational levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability and willingness to perform field visits and work in substation and switching station environments, including wearing required PPE


Preferred Qualifications



  • Knowledge of project management standards, specifications, and best practices
  • Experience writing, reviewing, or editing Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Construction or utility operations experience in substations, steam, or power generation
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification


This is a hybrid opportunity in NYC and hours are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday
