Sr. Paralegal

Hybrid/Remote: Hybrid, 3 days in office minimum

Type of hire: 6 month contract with extensions based on performance

Assist attorneys in the preparation of pending litigation actions; prepare and draft pleadings and responses to discovery demands served on or by the Company.

• Handle extensive document production and coordinate the preparation of information in an efficient and timely manner.
• Maintain case files and matters
• Coordinate with and advise management personnel in providing documents response to discovery requests.
• Analyze documents and catalog exhibits.
• Perform legal research and cite check briefs.
• Prepare all required legal documents including issuing daily/weekly reports
• Monitor cases and handle other tasks related to litigation and other law areas
• Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
• Initiate / maintain legal holds (via software) Knowledge of court deadlines, review of CPLR and other court/procedural rules related to deadlines and submission requirements, and calendaring deadlines
• Maintain electronic document repositories and document review platforms/software

What are the MUST HAVE Professional or Technical skills for this position?

• Strong background in drafting discovery responses discovery demands and various types of motions
• Must have New York Insurance Defense Litigation experience and well-versed in New York Practice
• Good faith letter writing
• Court Experience
• Handle Reporting and PSC
• Adobe (Word processing, edit and prepare documents, adobe redactions)
• Microsoft Office
• Preparing documents
• Handle e-filing of documents on PACER, NYCEF and other state or federal agencies
• Drafting Motions and Affirmations
