Virtual Reality Training Intern - Summer 2026

The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customersupport throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, andquality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutionsfor their most critical equipment and processes.

Interested in working with the latest technologies in a training environment? Be an integral part of the Technical Training Virtual Reality team! You will use your current 3D modeling skillsets to help us develop and implement innovative, leading-edge training experiences for our Lam Research work force.

As a summer intern on the Technical Training VR Team, you will assist our talented in-house VR Game Designers with implementing immersive VR learning scenarios in a mixed reality environment that focus primarily on user interactions, both self-paced and collaborative, in a virtual semiconductor training lab environment.

• Learn to develop immersive, VR-based learning content utilizing industry-standard software
• Work with industry standard 3D CAD software
• Assist VR Team with annual updates to existing VR modules to ensure accuracy
• Create and maintain a library of VR-ready models and re-usable VR-specific code and scenes
• Troubleshoot VR hardware/software end-user issues both remotely and in the classroom
• Work on special in-house projects during your internship

• Junior or Senior Undergraduate Student (Bachelors) working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Game Design, or a related field.
• Available to intern for summer 2026.

• Experience creating and manipulating large, 3D CAD models in Siemens NX, or Creo software environments
• Experience with tools and environments such as: Unity, Unreal, Pixyz, Maya, Visual Studio, C++, C#, Python, Javascript and similar a plus
• Experience developing instructional-based games in Unity or Unreal software platforms a plus
• Expert knowledge of VR hardware and software configurations and standards.
• Knowledge of Meta Quest HMDs a plus
• Knowledge of video and audio production software, such as Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, TechSmith Camtasia a plus
• Knowledge of Lua scripting a plusStrong visual and interaction skills

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
