Under the direction of the Site CI Manager, this position is responsible for supporting the Continuous Improvement activities in the Chromalloy Manufacturing facility located in Carson City, Nevada. The role will support manufacturing improvement efforts and initiatives throughout the planning, implementation and follow up stages. This includes analyzing the production flow and corresponding output by identifying and reducing/eliminating issues that hinder performance. This role will review financial data to further identify areas of improvement and use that information to drive action. Furthermore, the incumbent will lead a wide range of initiatives to improve on-time delivery, quality, cost, safety, and productivity.



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Support and or lead Continuous Improvement activities with cross-functional teams to improve safety, on-time delivery and the efficiency of manufacturing processes and procedures by removing/eliminating bottlenecks.
  • Coach and apply Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma tools and methodologies such as Kaizen, A3s, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Visual management, standardized work procedures, Gemba walks, Root Cause analysis, Standard Work, Error Proofing, Overall Equipment Effectiveness and Total Productive Maintenance to reduce and or eliminate waste and improve efficiency in the process.
  • Collect and analyze data with the application of statistical processes, tools and techniques to monitor and measure process behavior. Identify trends and discover issues/bottlenecks in the manufacturing processes and procedures that would impact performance.
  • Evaluate results and drive decisions based on facts and data. Establish metrics and validate the success of improvement initiatives. Establish reports and reporting systems for the different manufacturing metrics and implement solutions to sustain improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to achieve proper alignment on initiatives. Ensure that people and processes transition smoothly with minimum to no disruption or loss in productivity through adaptive or transformational changes.
  • Familiarity with the design and implementation of cellular and factory layouts to improve flow and efficiency.
  • Leads project teams to implement new programs and process improvements. Develops the project charter and works closely with stakeholders to execute the project successfully in meeting timelines and delivering expected results within allocated budget.
  • Display and promote an attitude on the manufacturing floor that leads to a workforce that is not only engaged but motivated in implementing process and procedure changes.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.



EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:


The specific EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE requirements of this position are:




  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Data Analytics, Engineering or related field from an accredited institute.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in Continuous Improvement within a manufacturing environment with demonstrated results.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in data analysis and the application of statistical processes and tools.
  • Strong analytical Skills using Excel, Minitab, SPSS and or other Statistical software tools.
  • Process improvement certifications, such as Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, Process Improvement Specialist and or other related certifications.



Preferred Qualifications:




  • Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and production KPIs within the aerospace sector.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and or other 3D modelling tools.
  • Experience in Project Management. PMP certification a plus.
  • Demonstrated results in leading lean manufacturing activities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
