Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Quality Technician to join our team, ensuring that all automotive electronic products and components meet rigorous internal and industry standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, etc.). The ideal candidate will conduct inspections, perform tests using precision equipment, document results, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is vital in maintaining product safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Description Key Responsibilities
- On-site Work (5 days per week)
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process components (e.g., PCBs), and finished automotive electronic products to verify compliance with technical specifications and customer requirements.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments and diagnostic equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and specialized diagnostic software, to evaluate product quality and performance.
- Accurately document all inspection results, test data, and findings, maintaining detailed quality records and generating reports for management and engineering teams.
- Issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) for defective products or processes and assist Quality Engineers with initial investigations, defect containment, and root cause analysis activities.
- Monitor adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant regulatory standards, including IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
- Support the calibration and maintenance of all testing and inspection equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with production and engineering departments to provide feedback on quality issues, recommend corrective actions, and reinforce best practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma projects, to strengthen process controls, reduce defects, automated assembly improvements, and improve overall efficiency.
- Conduct Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) audits to ensure compliance with established controls in the electronics assembly areas.
- Fulfill the activities and functions described in the applicable quality and environmental system documents; as well as assuming responsibility for those aspects of the OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) management system over which he/she has control (FMEA and CP).
- Validate that the products and processes are carried out in accordance with what is described in the established documents (Work instructions, QVAs, parameter chart, operating procedures and control documents
- Report non-conforming components and track each one throughout the process until a clean point is reached, from its report (Quality Alert) to its conclusion (disposal)
- Conduct and provide appropriate follow-up to product audits and LPAs.
- Provide technical quality support to the different processes and departments.
- Generate the basic documentation for the operation, such as alerts, operating instructions, QVAs, WGSs, attribute reports, control charts and other documentation necessary for the performance of the activity, producing complete and well-defined work.
- Analyze / Problem solve using root cause analysis to appropriately evaluate data, ideas and reach logical conclusions.
- Use knowledge gained to determine the correct course of action, then handle change and unexpected conditions for optimal outcomes.
- Freely share information, ideas, and constructive opinions in pursuit of the team's goals to complete the workload of the respective internal/external team.
- Efficiently / Effectively focus on workload systematically in order to achieve short-term and long-term goals; concentrate on accuracy, thoroughness and reliability,
- Complete work tasks with minimal supervision and within the required and/or agreed-upon timeframes.
- Follow up on additional activities required by the Quality Group Leader and Manager.
- Make decisions and provide behavior that fully adheres to and supports the Company's high ethical standards and are in compliance with work rules, processes, procedures, Policies and regulations.
Qualifications Required:
- High School Degree(equivalent), plus 2+ years' Automotive, Industrial, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or related technical field with preference to Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree.
- 2+ years' full-time work experience providing Technical Quality Support in the capacity of Quality Technician, Quality Inspector for Quality Processes for customers / suppliers within a high volume Automotive Manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years' LPA practical full-time work experience conducting Layered Process Audits.
- 2+ years' full time work experience performing systematic and documented evaluations of finished products, verifying that they comply with established specifications, norms and quality standards, identifying deviations and proposing corrective actions to ensure conformity and continuous improvement.
- 2+ years CSR understanding the client's technical / reporting requirements, paying special attention to meeting the needs that arise in the process operations to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- 2+ Years hands-on technical experience applying standard automotive quality methodologies and CORE TOOLS in accordance with AIAG Standards.
- Excellent English communication skills (written & spoken)
- Proficiency in using quality inspection tools and equipment, along with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Root Cause Analysis).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and report drafting.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (Visa sponsorship IS NOT available for this position)
- Desired: Relevant quality certification (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Technician - CQT) or strong desire to complete the ASQ Certification Process.
- Desired: Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and components, including technologies
