Anticipated Hiring Range: $21.75- $25.06 hourly
Full Pay Range: $21.75 - $35.00 hourly

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

Located in Gila Bend, this position provides specialized judicial clerical and administrative support to both the Ironwood Justice Court and the Gila Bend Municipal Court, working within two distinct court management systems. Key responsibilities include case processing, financial and cash handling, and delivering high-quality customer service.

We Require

  • Three years of progressively legal, court, or justice system support-related experience

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Related post-secondary education may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value

  • Previous experience working as a Judicial Clerk Senior in a court environment

  • Previous lead or supervisory experience

Job Contributions

  • Performs clerk duties for both Ironwood Justice Court and Gila Bend Municipal Court, utilizing two different court management systems

  • Assists with the hiring and supervision of staff, trains, oversees, assigns, and monitors the workload of staff

  • Handles complex and highly critical functions of the court

  • Participates in the legal clerical work of the court

  • Assists staff in problem resolution and facilitates training in court operations.

  • Answers questions concerning departmental policies

  • Investigates and responds to public complaints and requests for information or services in accordance with established policies and procedures

  • Updates database information and prepares detailed statistical reports. summarizes and prepares court proceedings in minute entry form, reads and interprets minute entries,

  • Types docket entries, prepares, designs, and runs management information reports.

  • Prepares and processes formal orders and documents at the direction of the Judge and prepares legal forms for signature

  • Responds to inquiries regarding court cases.

  • Performs supervisory functions in the absence of supervisor

  • Answers questions from the public and other agencies.

  • Oversees all financial reconciliations in the court, including daily and monthly reporting, and undergoes various financial audits

Working Conditions

  • Work primarily occurs in an office setting

  • This position may include exposure to traumatic subject matter

  • Must demonstrate professionalism and composure when engaging with individuals who may be emotional, distressed, or confrontational as a result of court-related matters
