Job Summary

The Core/Coil Stacker is responsible for assembling various sizes of transformers and related sub-assemblies in accordance with defined procedures, bills of materials, and production standards. This role supports production schedules by completing assemblies to specification, reworking damaged or defective components, and ensuring quality and safety compliance. The position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities




  • Assemble transformers and related sub-assemblies according to customer specifications, blueprints, bills of materials, and standardized procedures.



  • Perform work across multiple production areas, including bake oven operations, coil hot press, core and clamp, turn-to-turn ratio (TTR) testing and hook-up, low voltage welding and finishing, lead press, and stacking operations.



  • Load cores and coils onto stacking lines and stack cores around coil legs.



  • Apply steel banding straps and securely clamp assemblies.



  • Learn and operate TIG welding equipment to weld low voltage leads and crossovers.



  • Follow low voltage and high voltage hook-up diagrams to complete assembly connections.



  • Test finished units using TTR testing equipment to verify proper ratios and connections.



  • Operate material handling equipment, including hoists and powered industrial trucks, to transport assemblies to designated storage areas.



  • Load units into bake ovens according to production schedules and sequencing requirements.



  • Stamp and weld lead assemblies to support ongoing production needs.



  • Rework damaged or defective components and completed assemblies as required.



  • Dispose of unusable or excess materials in accordance with established procedures.



  • Inspect tools and equipment for damage and coordinate repair or replacement as needed.



  • Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of tools and equipment.



  • Use manual and powered hand tools and basic measuring devices to complete assigned tasks.



  • Maintain compliance with all safety standards, housekeeping practices, and workplace policies.



  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.




Job Requirements




  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions, blueprints, and basic operating procedures.



  • Willingness to learn manufacturing processes and equipment operation.



  • Ability to perform job safety analysis and follow production schedules.



  • Ability to perform close vision work and repetitive hand and upper extremity movements.



  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, stand, and walk for extended periods.



  • Ability to manually handle materials in the medium to heavy weight range.



  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).



  • Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.



  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.



  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and uphold professional standards of conduct.




Work Experience




  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred but not required.
