Description

Job Title: Laboratory Project Manager

Reports to: Laboratory Director or Field Services Director as appropriate.

Summary/Objective

Performs a critical role of preparing documents related to laboratory work in support of national business objectives. Additionally, develop and maintain tracking systems to ensure samples are received and processed appropriately by laboratories. This includes confirming orders match proposals, invoices match reports, reports are delivered on time, and many other documentation aspects of coordinating efforts with internal and external laboratories.


Essential Functions

  • Generate labels and COCs for laboratory work in preparation for field projects
  • Track sample shipments with laboratories to ensure appropriate receipt
  • Review pricing, methodology, and sample counts with proposed scope
  • Monitor laboratory performance regarding report turnaround and significant quality issues
  • Prepare finalized report documentation, update project tracking details
  • Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or 2 years administrative experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in managing laboratory documentation
  • Intermediate knowledge of methodology, commonly used approaches, and laboratory requirements
  • Intermediate knowledge of client requirements, including applicable permits, legal codes, and data use cases


Pay Rate

$20-$22/hour DOE


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office programs, including Work, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both with internal customers and external vendors
  • Professional behavior and appearance
  • Ability to be organized and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, follow up on pending issues, meet deadlines and work independently


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting, involving sitting/standing and possible light lifting


Physical Demands

  • Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods and the use of hands to finger is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
  • While performing the duties of this job, good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, and copiers is needed. In an industrial environment, employees may frequently be required to lift, carry, push, or pull. Exertion of up to 30 pounds of force may be occasionally required. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
