Target hiring range for this position will be between be range is as be $18.00-$20.00 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Job Summary:
Conduct all following assays under a close supervision: cell culture, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, cell cytoxicity assay, and any related assays as research requires. Help with general laboratory duties, such as autoclave supplies as needed.
Please note: appointment is upon 1-year renewal term; 90-day probation period at initial hire
Specific Responsibilities:
- Follows pre-defined protocols, policies, procedure, regulations, Good Clinical and Good Laboratory Practices and conducts standard and repetitive experiments and completes basic trouble-shooting techniques.
- Help with general laboratory maintenance, shcu as autoclave reagents, supply inventory.
Using an entry level of skill, completes the following activities
Molecular Biology:
- Protein isolation and Western blotting
- PCR, RT-PCR
- Recombinant virus production and purification
Cellular Biology:
- Cell culture, cell isolation
- Functional studies
- Transfection
Histology:
- Immunohistochemistry
- Microscopy
Immunology:
- ELISA
- Cell cytotoxicity assay
Animal:
- Animal handing
- Tumor measurements
- Records test results and may maintain databases.
- Completes standard and routine clerical duties such as copying, filing, data entry, word processing, etc.
- Maintains inventory of reagents, mice and lab supplies
Miscellaneous
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.Sc or equivalent and some basic science courses is required.
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
- Cell culture, being able to read scientific literature and protocol with understanding the science behind. Knowledge of western blotting and immunohostichemistry, cell cytotoxicity assay
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.Sc with some laboratory experience in research seeting

- Some hands on experience with laboratory research, being able to follow instruction and complete a task, honest, ability to communication of process and potential problems, pay attention to details and maintain detailed records
