JOB PURPOSE:



The Case Aide Specialist will assist Community Housing Assistance Programs through various administrative and case management functions. The Case Aide Specialist will work closely with case managers in providing comprehensive wrap around case management services.



The Case Aide Specialist will assist Case Managers and Program Leadership with tasks associated with serving clients and their families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness with the goal of increasing their quality of life and maintaining the highest possible ability to function within the community.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:





  • Conduct attempts to locate clients for initial intake appointments including travel to public facilities that clients are known to frequent.
  • Conduct client interviews and screening assessments.
  • Assist with data entry.
  • Accompany case managers during regular home visits.
  • Order and deliver move-in essentials after clients are housed.
  • Prepare packets of required documentation to process financial assistance.
  • General administrative functions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with entering information and maintaining databases.
  • Running program errands (e.g., client fee deposits, grocery and household items shopping)
  • Conduct outreach and engagement activities with community partners.
  • Communicate with service providers and community stakeholders.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention when clients experience behavioral health crises, mental instability, or emergency situations.
  • Coordinate with case managers during client's crisis intervention
  • Utilize deescalation techniques to reduce conflict and maintain safety and client overall stability
  • Educate clients on coping skills, crisis resources, and strategies for selfmanagement.
  • Advocate with benefit agencies (e.g., SSA, Medicaid, SNAP) to support client applications, appeals, and reinstatements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:



EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or related field, preferred but not required.



EXPERIENCE: 1+ years case management or support services experience; 3+ years preferred. 2+ years in a customer service focused environment. Experience with homeless, low income, veterans & their families a strong plus.



ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.



LICENSES: Driver's License with clear record.



VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.



OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:



COMMUNICATION: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via oral or written means. Ability to present a friendly and positive demeanor to parents, school personnel, licensing, staff and the general public. Ability to make oral presentations.



COMPOSURE: Ability to remain calm and maintain self-control in the midst of difficult circumstances and emergencies. Ability to respond in a professional manner in all situations.



DECISION MAKING: Ability to set work priorities and to evaluate and create solutions to work related problems. Ability to think analytically and evaluate the impact of decisions.



ORGANIZATION: Ability to plan ahead several months to a year. Ability to keep various on-going projects organized and files maintained accurately. Above normal levels of concentration and memory required. Requires good time management practices and the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
