Job Overview

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor (LPP - Wood Plant) to join our team onsite in Holland, MI. The position will work Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

As the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, you will lead and direct the daily activities of a technical team, set priorities, and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and in alignment with company policies and project goals. You will manage eight direct reports and oversee a specific production area with ongoing needs in safety, quality, and throughput. This role requires applying engineering-based problem-solving to address issues, improve performance, and drive operational results. It also offers a clear pathway into leadership with responsibility for influencing and improving a key plant operation.
Essential Functions

  • Address performance issues in a timely and professional manner, providing coaching and support as needed.
  • Assign projects and tasks to team members, ensuring clear understanding of objectives, deadlines, and quality standards.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for growth and development.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, promoting member engagement, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting open communication, teamwork, and a shared commitment to excellence.
  • Manage team resources, including time, budget, and materials, to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
  • Monitor team performance, track progress against goals, and provide regular feedback to team members.
  • Supervise a team of engineering technicians. Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support to a team of engineers and/or technical staff.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education



  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Education Equivalency:

    • Associate's degree in an Engineering discipline, plus 2 years of related experience or,
    • 4 years of related experience if no post-secondary education.
    • Military Equivalency at www.mynextmove.org/vets/find/military





Experience



  • 3 years of experience working in operations as an engineer (controls, electrical, manufacturing, mechanical).
  • 2 years supervisory experience.



In addition:



  • Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
  • Ability to travel up to 10 percent of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Haworth working experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with 50 or more employees.
  • Experience working with production of tangible goods or software.
  • Green belt or Red X certification.
  • Statistical process control experience.
