Overview

Graduate Princeton is seeking a reliable and hardworking Steward to support our culinary team. This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in all kitchen and back-of-house areas, including dishwashing, equipment sanitation, and waste removal. The ideal candidate takes pride in creating a clean, safe environment, works well in a fast-paced setting, and understands the important role they play in delivering an exceptional guest experience.



Responsibilities

    Operate dishwashing equipment to properly clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen and back-of-house areas

  • Ensure proper storage of clean dishes and equipment

  • Remove trash, recycling, and compost in accordance with property procedures

  • Sweep and mop floors, clean drains, and maintain overall sanitation standards

  • Assist culinary team with basic support tasks as needed

  • Follow all health, safety, and food handling guidelines

  • Report maintenance or safety concerns to management promptly

  • Support the team in maintaining a positive and efficient work environment



Qualifications

  • Previous steward, dishwasher, or kitchen experience preferred, but not required

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards

  • Basic understanding of food safety and proper handling procedures

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly

  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and work in hot, humid, and high-noise kitchen environments

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
