Shipping/Receiving Operator

Bedford, PA

1st shift: 7am - 3pm (M-F)

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Acts as an operator within a warehouse: Receiving, tracking materials, inventorying stock, pulling, picking, and shipping orders.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general equivalent diploma
• Valid Driver's License
• Does not require vocational training nor a university degree.
• Works with clearly defined methods and tasks that are described in detail.
• Has limited prior relevant training or work experience.
• Contributes directly to specific unskilled tasks or processes.
• Has limited discretion to vary from established procedures.
• Contributes indirectly to specific unskilled tasks or processes.
• Has no discretion to vary from established procedures.

KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Administers and operates the organization's warehouses, including processing, packaging and storage of supplies, materials and equipment.
• Accounts for all materials in the distribution center.
• Performs receipt, storage and shipment of materials in accordance with established procedures.
• Prepares and coordinates schedules for domestic shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and regulate warehouse space.
• Ensures the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment.
• Significant time operating electric / fuel-based forklifts loading / unloading trucks.
• Perform transactions in the SAP / ERP system required to process material movements.
• Responsible for maintaining and ensuring workplace organization programs (5S, EHS) are adhered to for the assigned area.
• Performs operational or manual tasks, primarily in manufacturing, supply chain or operational environments.
• Typically performs unskilled or semi-skilled work.
• Works under close supervision with little autonomy.
