You will serve as the primary technical pivot point for US Federal and SLED (State, Local, and Education) sectors, ensuring our core hardware and software solutions meet the most stringent cybersecurity and interoperability standards in the world. From managing JITC certifications at Fort Huachuca to maintaining a sophisticated home interoperability lab, you will act as a trusted technical advocate for Avaya's mission-critical public sector implementations. Key Responsibilities * Certification & Testing: Lead the coordination and hands-on execution of testing at the Joint Interoperability Test Center (JITC) at Fort Huachuca. This includes pre-test configuration, cyber hardening, and managing cross-functional teams during large-scale test cycles. * Cybersecurity Hardening: Manually and via automated tools (e.g., SteelCloud), "harden" Avaya software and hardware to meet DISA STIG requirements and perform penetration testing per NIST standards using tools like Nessus or Qualys. * Home Lab Management: Establish and maintain a functional home-based interoperability lab (equipment provided) to validate 3rd-party integrations (GDIT ViPER, E911, etc.) in support of strategic sales opportunities. * Strategic Consulting: Act as a technical advisor for the Federal CTO, participating in face-to-face customer meetings, presentations, and high-level account retention strategies. * Cloud & FedRAMP Support: Provide technical consultation for Avaya's on-premise and Cloud-based solutions (FedRAMP and IL4H), assisting with third-party audits and compliance. * Technical Escalation: Support Avaya's service teams in troubleshooting unique Federal implementations, specifically those involving complex security hardening that requires Authority to Operate (ATO) sign-off. * Mentorship: Develop and lead a training program to mentor team members on legacy Aura core solutions, allowing the CTO team to scale toward next-generation solutions (Infinity, IL4H).
Responsibilities & Qualifications
* Technical Depth: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience configuring and installing Avaya Aura (CM, SM), Contact Center, and SBCs. * Protocol Expertise: Deep proficiency in SIP, Assured Services SIP (AS-SIP), H.323, Quality of Service (QoS), and Audio/Video Conferencing. * Federal Testing: Minimum 2 years of experience with JITC testing procedures and the US DoW Unified Communications Requirements (UCR) document. * Cybersecurity: Minimum 5 years of experience in STIG compliance and NIST-based cyber penetration testing. * Travel: Ability to travel to Sierra Vista, AZ multiple times per month (if not locally based). Preferred Skills * Direct experience taking a product through the JITC approval process in person at Fort Huachuca. * Proven track record integrating GDIT ViPER secure phones and E911 systems with Avaya Aura. * Experience with automated hardening tools like SteelCloud. Work Environment & Benefits * Home-Based Office: This position is remote, with an allowance for power consumption related to the required home lab.
