Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol, 1+ Year in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help reduce security-related incidents. You will support staff and visitors with professional customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting of concerns. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter, observing for irregular conditions and helping to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Control access by monitoring entry points, verifying identification and/or authorization, and directing visitors to appropriate check-in locations per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Complete detailed shift documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and daily activity reports, and communicate notable observations during post transitions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
