Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (
UBHC), established in 1971, offers a full continuum of evidence based behavioral health and addiction services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout New Jersey. UBHC's 1,060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment, prevention, and education.
UBHC, one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country, has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. Services are readily accessible and include: inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, screening, crisis stabilization, family/caregiver support, community outreach and case management, supportive housing, supported employment, prevention and consultation, employee assistance programs, and a licensed therapeutic school from preschool through high school. Specialty services include the New Jersey suicide prevention helpline and peer help lines for police, veterans, active military, teachers, mothers of special needs children and child protective service workers. In FY2016,
UBHC treated 16,199 consumers, had 24,502 admissions, and touched the lives of 19,441 individual callers through peer support. In addition,
UBHC is the primary mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of Human Services, Children and Families, and Corrections, delivering 16,000 trainings each year. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Secretary
III for the Essex Children's Mobile Response within Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.
The primary purpose of the Secretary
III is to provide secretarial general office services for
UBHC Unit.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Completes a variety of internal paperwork for the department, including travel and mileage reimbursement forms, general stores requests, check requests, and clinical data/reports.
- Inputs and retrieves data and information stored in computer and databases and updates as required.
- Assists in the maintenance of appropriate log sheets, databases, and records needed for the efficient operation of Unit.
- Handles internal and external mail for Unit.
- Assists the Clinician Supervisor and the Supervising Habilitation Counselors with the registration process for all new and returning clients.
- Assists the Clinician Supervisor and the Supervising Habilitation Counselors in the submission of billing for the services of the CMRSS program.
- Assists the Clinician Supervisor and the Supervising Habilitation Counselors in the review of clinical records being submitted to the UBHC Clinical Records Department.
- Keeps accurate minutes for all staff meetings and group supervisions and stores a typewritten copy of the minutes on CMRSS's and the Acute Management Supervisor's share drives.
- Handles Unit's telephone calls in a professional, thorough and helpful manner.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Graduation from an accredited program in secretarial studies plus two (2) years of full-time secretarial experience. An additional year of experience is required in lieu of the secretarial program.
- College credits may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for secretarial experience. A maximum of sixty (60) credits or two (2) years may be substituted for two (2) years of secretarial experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Busy office with staff and consumer contact and frequent telephone calls. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. May be exposed to clients exhibiting assaultive or aggressive behaviors. Generally pleasant working conditions in a clean, well-lighted, and quiet to moderately loud setting. |
