Job Summary

The Associate Director, Information Systems & Data Intelligence, provides vision, leadership, and strategic management for enterprise applications, integrations, data governance, and analytics across the institution. This role manages the Data Management Department and multiple functional areas, with management focus primarily on strategic rather than operational matters. The Associate Director serves as administrative and programmatic support to the Director of Information Systems & Data Intelligence and serves as Director in his/her absence. Responsibilities include ensuring the integrity, security, accessibility, and value of institutional data while partnering with campus stakeholders to deliver reliable systems and actionable insights that advance organizational goals.

  • Provides vision, leadership, and management of day-to-day operations of Information Systems and Data Intelligence to meet institutional goals and objectives
  • Develops and executes strategic roadmaps, KPIs, policies, and initiatives to support long-term organizational objectives. Analyzes the effectiveness of and establishes future direction for functional policies and programs.
  • Establishes and oversees data and AI governance frameworks, including policies, classification standards, quality controls, and stewardship.
  • Leads the enterprise AI strategy and roadmap; prioritize high-impact use cases across operations, analytics, and alumni services
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to develop budget plans and monitors expenditures and revenues.
  • Aligns policies, products, and development efforts with institutional strategies and financial objectives.
  • Develops and implements procedures and practices to improve efficiency across functional areas
  • Oversees lifecycle management of enterprise platforms (CRM, financial systems, data lake, middleware, ETL/ELT, APIs).
  • Defines scalable integration patterns and leads modernization of data platforms and user experience.
  • Delivers governed datasets, dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics tools to support decision-making.
  • Establishes and monitors service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure data reliability and performance.
  • Oversees access management, data controls, audit processes, and risk-mitigation protocols. Ensures compliance with regulatory and security requirements (PII, FERPA, HIPAA as applicable, GDPR/CCPA).


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related discipline with six (6) years of experience in related field including managerial experience.



Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Analystics, or Computer Science preferred.

Experience in highly regulated or mission-driven environments (e.g., higher education, nonprofit, or public sector)

Hands-on familiarity with modern data architectures (cloud data warehouses/lakes, lakehouse patterns) and data security/privacy frameworks

Track record leading organizational change, building governance structures, and maturing data capabilities across multiple departments or functional areas

Experience serving in senior leadership absence and representing unit at executive level
