Are you an experienced tax professional with indirect and/or sales and use tax experience? If so, then we are working on a Senior Tax Accountant role that you would be a great fit for.

A large professional services company is looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team. In this role, the Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for sales and use tax returns, compliance, indirect tax, assisting with audits, and helping out with other areas of tax. To be successful in this role, the Senior Tax Accountant must have great communication skills, be detail-oriented, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. What do you need in this Senior Tax Accountant role?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 4+ years of tax experience
  • MUST have sales and use tax or indirect tax experience
  • MUST have private sector tax experience
  • Prior public accounting firm experience a plus
  • CPA a plus
  • Advanced Excel
What will you do in this Senior Tax Accountant role?
  • Handle preparation and filing of sales and use tax, as well as property tax, across multiple jurisdictions, including payment processing and account reconciliations.
  • Track and evaluate nexus exposure along with other state- and locality-specific filing requirements.
  • Manage business license renewals and support registration and deregistration activities.
  • Oversee and support sales and use tax audits by coordinating with internal tax leadership, accounting teams, regulatory agencies, and external advisors.
  • Partner with the credit team to maintain and validate customer exemption and resale certificates, ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
  • Work cross-functionally and provide support to the Corporate Tax team when needed.
  • Stay informed on updates to state and local tax regulations and assess their impact on compliance obligations.
  • Maintain and enhance the accuracy of the company's sales tax database and related financial records.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and participate in special projects as required.
