About the Job

Position Overview

This is a 0.8 FTE, 10-month appointment. This position will provide critical support for Pipeline and Pathway Programs that assist scholars in becoming physicians, including supporting the development and implementation of new processes and materials for program components newly funded by external sources.

The individual will perform a variety of duties including coordinating administrative aspects of BA/MD Seminar courses, supporting the application process and participation of scholars in summer research programs, supporting MCAT preparation activities, developing and improving data management systems, evaluating data and drafting dissemination materials, and other duties as assigned. This position works under the direction of Pipeline and Pathway Program leadership and faculty.

This position is hybrid. Much of the work can be conducted virtually, but some in-person duties are required to support program activities.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

30%: Course Administration

  • Coordinate and manage the Canvas site for four undergraduate BA/MD seminar courses within the College of Liberal Arts
  • Work with course co-directors to translate curricular vision into Canvas course design
  • Develop syllabi and post course content weekly
  • Monitor student attendance and engagement
  • Participate in seminars to support the development of scholars' research skills

30%: Application Coordination

  • In collaboration with CTSI PrEP and A-PrEP staff, coordinate the BA/MD application process and course coordination for up to 10 scholars participating in summer research programs
  • Develop and manage the BA/MD application process
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the summer program and participating scholars
  • Participate in onboarding activities at the start of the program
  • Assist faculty in development of curricular materials
  • Monitor scholar attendance and performance and refer concerns to Pipeline/Pathways faculty
  • Support scholars in the development of research posters at the conclusion of the program

15%: MCAT Preparation Support

  • Support scholar MCAT preparation activities including coordinating coaching resources, providing program support for tutoring activities
  • Assist with training coordination for MCAT coaches
  • Collect and track data related to scholar MCAT performance

10%: Data Management

  • Develop and improve data management systems to support program tracking and evaluation.

10%: Data Reporting

  • Support evaluation of program data
  • Assist with drafting dissemination materials, including posters, presentations, and manuscripts

5%: Other

  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED and four years related experience to include project management. Coursework in a related field may substitute for some years of experience.
  • Familiarity with pathways to professional health careers (e.g., pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-veterinary), including knowledge of undergraduate preparation, required examinations, and AAMC competencies for entering medical students
  • Experience working with software platforms for data tracking, reporting, and program management including REDCap, Google Sheets, Smartsheets, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
  • Reliability and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently while taking direction appropriately
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, responsiveness, and punctuality
  • Professional demeanor and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • CITI training or willingness to complete CITI training upon hire
  • Ability to learn and utilize website management software
  • Experience using Canvas and digital tools for document creation, visualizations, reporting, and student monitoring
  • Ability to learn and utilize project management software
  • FERPA training required upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a science or health-related field and related experience including research and/or curricular project management
  • Research experience in a biomedical laboratory setting

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $28.09 - $30.35 an hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 80% Appointment

Appointment Length: 10 Months
