We are looking fora Senior Network Engineer that will partner with teams within the IT organization to maintain and enhance our corporate network as well, with building out of new offices, and introducing new technologies. Use your extensive background in building and maintaining enterprise level networks to help Procore's growth and innovation across many on premises and cloud based network solutions.

The Senior Network Engineer performs the following functions: design, build, and maintain an ever changing complex architecture of network systems and devices across multiple environments that support the needs of our internal and external customers. You will also be responsible for utilizing established scripting skills to create, and maintain, automation tools to simplify and expedite the ongoing management of these systems.

This candidate will be responsible for maintaining network architecture, designing future network architecture, as well as maintaining day to day operations of network technology. You will be working in collaboration with multiple teams, and leadership, across the company to help align Procore to pertinent Industry standards. The technologies involved with this role are varied and growing; from traditional appliance firewalls, to Anti-DDoS, Web Application Firewalls, Network Taps and Aggregators, and more. This position reports into the Director IT and Infrastructure and will be based in our Carpentaria office. We're looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with other teams to solve network problems with minimal disruption to other business functions.

  • Will be responsible for both the on premise network at our many offices around the world as well as our cloud implementations

  • Investigate and troubleshoot network issues to determine root cause and help create solutions.

  • Continuous improvement of policies, procedures and technology

  • Build automation and management solutions to help maintain multiple environments across various data center and IaaS cloud platforms.

  • Support incident response and problem management by providing containment actions and incident analysis as it relates to network technologies.

  • Interact with industry experts, partners, internal staff and auditors

  • Work effectively as part of a geographically distributed team

  • Occasional travel is required (domestic and international)

What we're looking for:

1) Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Experience in firewall configuration and policy management

  • Knowledgeable of industry standard best practices in regard to networking

  • Strong understanding of secure wireless communications

  • Strong distributed systems and architecture knowledge.

  • Strong understanding of implementing and managing vulnerability management programs

  • Strong understanding of securing directory services on premise and in the cloud

  • Strong understanding of securing access to SaaS business systems

  • Strong grasp of practical cryptography usage, able to recommend the best approach for storage, transport and identity purposes

  • Able to work collaboratively across diverse engineering teams and products to meet organizational goals.

  • Experience with various performance engineering tools, methodologies and frameworks (predictive modeling, capacity planning, performance analysis and stress testing, and benchmarking)

  • Develop highly accurate identification of anomalous and potentially malicious behavior by leveraging pattern detection over large datasets

  • Create alerting for operation and investigation teams and work with them to automate manual processes

  • Perform deep data analysis, correlating data from disparate systems, and using metrics to drive consistent system improvements

  • Capable of resolving complex software and hardware problems

2) Minimum certifications/educational level:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or MIS or comparable experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in Network Engineering, preferably in large scale environment

  • At least 10 years in IT operations, such as systems administration, network engineering, database administration, security operations, etc.

  • CCNA, CCNP a plus

3) Minimum experience:

  • Advanced skill level with mastery of most operating systems commands/utilities

  • Advanced skill level with mastery of CIFs, DHCP, DNS, A/D, TCP/IP

  • Knowledge experience implementing security policies in various data center environments

  • Experience with multi-tiered mission-critical systems

  • Worked in a Zero Downtime environment

  • Solid hands-on technical background particularly in managing highly complex, multi-platform environments (servers, storage, networks, security, virtualization, systems monitoring and management)

  • Familiar with network analysis tools (wireshark, tcpdump, etc)

Additional Information

Base Pay Range:

111,760.00 - 153,670.00 USD Annual

This role may also be eligible for Equity Compensation and/or Bonus Incentive Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
