Job Description

Our team provides support for staff in the student administrative offices (Registrar, Cashiers, Financial Aid, Admissions, and Residential Life) at the four University of Missouri System institutions. This is a remote position with some in-person aspects at times, based on the needs of the customers within our support structure.

The software our team supports include the enterprise Student Administration System (the student life cycle from recruiting to graduation) and multiple vended applications. A few of the current applications in use are PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, College Source u.achieve and Planner, StarRez, Technosolutions Slate, College Scheduler Schedule Planner, CBORD, TouchNet and Instructure Canvas.

As a Software Support Analyst on our team primary duties would include maintaining the Student Administration System documentation library to provide knowledge, training, and support for Functional End Users of the system regarding best-practice, usage, and special considerations for business operation software solutions; performing Change Management tasks that involve monitoring for release updates and known issues, creating development tools and resources used by Technical Teams for knowledge about updates, completing regression testing using documented testing scripts to ensure minimal impact from system updates, and building testing documentation to be used during Functional User Acceptance Testing; building and maintaining testing procedures for known changes to the software from vendor delivered updates or through Technical Team modifications; documenting business processes and procedures to be used by Functional End Users or Technical Team members in support of software application usage and best-practice; drafting specifications and requirement documentation from discovery sessions during upgrades and projects; assisting with queries and reports for Functional End Users.

Successful candidate must display strong attention to detail, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical users, demonstrate ability to research and understand process flows, quickly learn new system functionality with minimal guidance, and be able to maintain momentum on projects while investigating details.

An understanding of basic project management practices and the capacity to adhere to critical deadlines is desired. Qualified candidate must be able to handle multiple assignments and swiftly change focus when priorities shift. A positive attitude, ability to learn new technologies, willingness to engage with people, and energy for a multi-faceted and quick-paced job are required.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Evening, weekend and call-in work may be required to meet deadlines or participate in system upgrades.

Minimum Qualifications

Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to see the bigger picture and sort through the details to formulate concise and clear understanding. Time management and organization skills to work through critical project deadlines. Proficiency with documentation and flowcharting tools. Ability to translate technical details into documentation easily understood by non-technical customers. Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with cross-departmental teams. Ability to work under pressure; meet inflexible deadlines; deal with difficult individuals while maintaining composure. Evening, weekend and call-in work may be required to meet deadlines or participate in system upgrades.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience. Working knowledge of a vended software support model. Proven ability to foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Experience using Oracle SQL and/or supporting PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. Residence within the state of Missouri is preferred.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $50,367 - $79,354 Commensurate with experience
