Primary Responsibilities HDR is currently in search of a Transportation Hydraulics Engineer in our Transportation Business Group. The primary duties include project and task-level management, leading and directing technical staff, as well as hands-on project engineering for all phases on a wide variety of water resource projects. Manage/lead/develop engineering design including plans, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents for a diverse variety of water resources infrastructure. Lead/develop preparation of technical and non-technical reports and presentations including visualization of data. Assist with business development activities including client relations, marketing pursuits, and project proposals. Primary responsibilities include: Work as a key member of a hydraulic/water resource design team, serve as a task lead/project engineer on small to large projects. Provide leadership support for project delivery and business development. Preparation of hydraulic design work using local or national standards, hydrology and hydraulic analyses, scour assessments, roadway drainage design, hydraulic reports, erosion and sediment pollution control, stormwater management design, NPDES and Waterway Permits. Prepare contour grading and drainage plans, erosion and sediment pollution control plans, drainage profiles, and post-construction stormwater management plans. Assist with preparing specifications and construction cost estimates. Assist with preparing scopes, budgets and schedules including day-to-day communication (verbal and written) with the client. Support and advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with subconsultants and keep the project on schedule and within budget, and perform other duties as needed.
