This position requires onsite regular attendance at the Statewide TMC.Traffic Dispatchersare eligible for pay increases upon successful completion of each training level. This position is contingent upon award of contract RFQ-2605. The TMC Operations Manager will serve as the on-site leader responsible for managing and operating the NDOT Traffic Management Center (TMC) in a hybrid staffing model consisting of both GFT and NDOT personnel. The Operations Manager will function as the primary operational liaison between GFT and NDOT, ensuring 24/7/365 traffic monitoring, incident response coordination, and traveler information delivery in alignment with NDOT policies, procedures, and statewide Traffic Incident Management (TIM) objectives. This position reports directly to the GFT Traffic Management Business Line Leader/National Program Manager. What you'll be challenged to do:
As a Traffic Operations Specilaist, you will play a key role in ensuring roadway safety and mobility by monitoring traffic conditions, responding to incidents via phone, computer aided software, and dispatching NDOT service trucks for routine and emergency situations. This role involves call-taking, real-time data entry, and the use of Microsoft applications and web-based systems to maintain accurate records, deploy traffic messaging via VMS boards, NDOT 511 and provide timely travel information to the public.
