Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Laboratory Technical Specialist to join our team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary:

Ensures and maintains reliability, integrity, and functionality of all test systems within assigned lab discipline across all laboratory sites. Evaluates and coordinates activities with vendors and implements procedures for test methodology, specimen handling and instrumentation. Ensures compliance with the standards of accrediting and regulatory agencies. Designs, monitors, and directs staff in quality assurance systems including quality control, test utilization, and proficiency testing. Participates in and leads HealthPartners hospital and ambulatory technical teams and committees as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

  • Bachelor's degree in science or healthcare field required.
  • Three years operational laboratory experience required in specialty.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Laboratory and Hospital information systems, personal computer with word processing and data management, internet, and unique reference laboratory ordering systems.
  • Proficiency in the operations of Microsoft Office (including e-mail and calendar), telephones, fax machines and copiers. Frequent use of spreadsheets, data, and analytics software.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

  • Medical Laboratory Science
  • Experience across multiple laboratory disciplines.
  • Three years' experience with clinical laboratory systems and quality assurance related to specialty.

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

  • ASCP certification or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and proven leadership qualities.
  • Demonstrates comfort interacting with customers and providers of various educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to analyze workflows, develop plans, and implement appropriate actions.
  • Exhibits a high degree of organization, with proven attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Possesses effective problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of general method evaluation, validation, and research and development of methodology.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of accrediting and regulatory agencies standards.
