SLB/ChampionX has an opening for a Central Ordering Planner position located in the Midland/Odessa, TX area.

We are looking for a Central Ordering Planner to join our team and help us optimize the ordering, routing and delivery of chemicals to our oil field operations in the Permian Basin. You will be responsible for field inventory management, strategic ordering placement and optimized delivery scheduling to support continuous improvement of our customer contract management plans.

In performing this role, the Central Ordering Planner is responsible for critical thought in managing master data and system parameters to support sending accurate ordering signals to create a mid-term customer Supply Plan for execution that supports service and inventory metrics. In addition, the Central Ordering Planner is the liaison between our sales force and field operations team.

What You Will Do:

  • Converts customer field inventories into a network last-mile ordering plan through various digital tools for production and replenishment execution. This includes master data management to optimize and create a supply plan to promote network efficiency and manage costs.
  • Identifies and resolves lead time issues with key stakeholders including customers, sales district teams and field operations.
  • Balances network plans to support production efficiency, sprint capacity, material allocation etc.
  • Assists sales team in meeting customer budgeting requirements through strategic ordering and inventory management.
  • Develops stocking strategies to support customer inventory management, customer service, and implement corrective action when imbalances occur.
  • Regularly monitors and addresses inactive, slow moving, and excess customer inventory.
  • Monitors key master customer data and supply chain parameters our Order Management Automation platform.
  • Manages supply constraints with stakeholders through regular collaboration and communication.
  • Identifies and implements improvement plans to ensure continuous improvement of last mile delivery metrics affected by lead times and order quality.
  • Generates order metrics to support value added initiatives, and regularly communicates progress with sales and operations leadership.
  • Supports a continuous improvement culture by using root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement and corrective actions in identified process gaps.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years of applicable logistics planning experience, inventory forecasting or master planning with efficient field operations
  • Proficiency with MS Office, primarily Excel and PowerBI
  • Proficiency with SAP (Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP))
  • No immigration sponsorship available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain or business.
  • 5+ years of applicable logistics planning experience, inventory forecasting or master planning with efficient field operations
  • High level proficiency with MS Office, primarily Excel and PowerBI
  • High level of proficiency with SAP (Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP))
  • A track record of successfully delivering to Key Performance Indicators and business objectives.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills to drive decisions and build consensus among stakeholders.
