Echocardiogram Technician Registered - Cardiology Non Invasive

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills (CSRH-WH) is a 150-bed hospital serving the fastest growing area of San Antonio. Specialized care includes orthopedic and surgical services, ICU, women's services, a newborn nursery, comprehensive cardiovascular care from diagnostics to open heart surgery, vascular lab, sleep center, emergency services, the CHRISTUS Weight Loss Institute, wound care, rehabilitation, and more. The campus also boasts an Outpatient Imaging Center and three medical plazas, one of which houses our CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Health Center.

Summary:

Position requires considerable technical ability, experience, and judgment to perform cardiovascular ultrasound and evaluate the quality of data for Cardiologist interpretation. Must have substantial knowledge and understanding of cardiovascular disease, dynamics of blood flow, Doppler, and color flow imaging techniques. Expected to have a detailed understanding of ultrasound instrumentation, cardiovascular physiology and pathology, hemodynamics and the ability to relate these findings to clinically meaningful data.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates a working knowledge of human anatomy and physiology,
• Performs diagnostic exams, including but not restricted to Echocardiography, TEE, Holtermonitoring 2D/M-Mode, and color doppler

Requirements:

Education/Skills

• High School Diploma required.

Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year of full time experience in Cardiac ultrasound.
• Must have considerable experience performing routine echoes including color flow, pulse wave, and continuous wave Doppler, stress, echo, pharmacologic stress and TEE. Also experience using contrast echo agents.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer through ARDMS or CCI.
• BLS required.
