Shift: 10:30am-7pm, No weekends

The Patient Registrar plays a key role in providing outstanding patient care by managing the registration and admission process, ensuring accurate data entry, and assisting with billing and insurance inquiries. This individual will be the first point of contact for patients, providing them with a warm welcome and delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Patient Registration: Greet patients and visitors, verify identity, and enter demographic and insurance information accurately into the system.
  • Data Management: Ensure all patient information is accurately recorded, up-to-date, and compliant with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Insurance Verification: Confirm insurance eligibility, co-pays, and prior authorizations as needed.
  • Scheduling: Coordinate appointment times, reschedule as needed, and confirm patient appointments.
  • Customer Service: Answer patient inquiries regarding services, registration processes, insurance, and billing.
  • Financial Transactions: Collect and document co-pays, payments, and receipts; handle cash and credit transactions securely.
  • Documentation: Maintain and organize patient records; prepare and scan documents as required.
  • Coordination: Communicate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and address any registration issues.


Qualifications:



  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a medical office, hospital, or healthcare environment is highly preferred.
  • Skills:


    • Strong communication and customer service skills
    • Proficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with healthcare systems
    • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
    • Competence in basic computer software (e.g., MS Office, Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems)



Salary Range: Minimum 17.37/hour - Maximum 28.68/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
