Responsibilities

Howmet Aerospace seeks to fill a critical Technical Liaison position that will be responsible for supporting communication and resolution of all Solar Turbines business and customer issues, including technical, quality, delivery, and commercial. This role is essential to develop and maintain a relationship with the customer, gaining knowledge of customer products, markets, organization, priorities, issues and business growth opportunities.

Position to be based out of the San Diego, CA Solar Turbines facility. Will also consider candidates that can be based out of Whitehall, MI or Wichita Falls, TX or Winsted, CT. Travel requirements will be dependent upon location.

Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary technical liaison between Howmet Aerospace and Solar Turbines
* Coordinate engineering efforts in design and material selection which lead to cost effective components meeting customer targets for cost and operating performance and Howmet targets of being producible
* Maintain customer knowledge and promote Howmet technical capabilities, contributing to overall growth
* Interact with customer manufacturing to ensure products meet performance, cost and quality criteria
* Aid the Account Manager in evaluating all quoting activity for compliance with customer requirements
* Aid the plants in communication / resolution of first article submittals and deviation requests
* Identify and prioritize important business growth opportunities
* Cultivate positive working customer / plant relationships.
* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
* Minimum 5 Year's relevant experience
* Demonstrated knowledge of the investment casting process
* Significant travel is required, less so if working out of San Diego facility
* Relocation to San Diego is preferred but not required. Candidate can still work from one of the major Howmet sites (Whitehall, Wichita Falls or Winsted) but would be required to travel to San Diego for 1-2 weeks of every month.
* Flexibility to work periodic overtime
* Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
* This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status

Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree in Engineering highly desired
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Strong influential and selling technical capabilities directly within customer environment
* Excellent people skills which promote customer loyalty and cooperation
* Ability to read blueprints and conceptualize product configurations
* Proficiency in standard office equipment including experience with Microsoft Office and Project
* Self-starter, excellent time management skills
* Six Sigma experience preferred
* Previous experience interaction with this customer is highly preferred
* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customer and other employees of Howmet

Compensation range for CA based positions is $100,000 - $130,000 annually
Compensation range outside of CA will be adjusted accordingly
